As we approach the long awaited wedding season of 2018 (does a wedding season even exist anymore?!), I thought I'd share with you my favorite accessories from our June 2017 wedding. Austin and I were engaged for a year and a half! While I had a long time to debate whether or not I wanted to marry him (jk), I had tons of time to curate and design seriously personalized accessories, gifts, and mementos. A few of these items have become keepsakes and are displayed throughout our home. I love being reminded of our special day.
This was my most favorite wedding accessory. We had our guests sign a live edge slab of wood instead of a traditional guestbook. This piece is hanging in our loft and fills my heart each time I walk past it. I designed the center emblem, which was also used on our invitations, ceremony program, and menu. I had it 3D printed and glued onto the stained live edge slab.
I searched high and low for a special card holder. I've seen some really fun ones before - an actual mailbox, enclosed baskets with a small opening for envelopes, wooden boxes - but I am so happy I went with this glass terrarium. I re-purposed it and it now displays my dried wedding bouquet in our living room.
I wanted to find a unique way to make sure all of my (6) nieces and nephews were included in the ceremony. The usual positions filled quickly, flower girls, ring bearer, scripture reader, but I needed something more. I created two sets of signs - walking down the aisle, towards the alter read "Here Comes Forever" and walking away read "Forever and Ever Amen." I had each child hold a sign. I also used these at the reception as a backdrop to our cake. I ordered the wooden calligraphy words and glued them onto wooden slabs from Michael's. I later sold them on Facebook Marketplace.
One of my favorite bridesmaid "thank you" presents were these personalized hangers. A cute memento from our special day. Very sturdy too!
This hot sauce wedding favor was a big hit for our guests. We had the labels special ordered with our name, date, wedding location and a really fun cartooned image of us!
Last but not least, cannot forget to mention this insanely unique keepsake. I had my bridesmaid bouquets preserved by bundle dying them into a scarf! I wear the scarf in warmer months and hang it on my purse handle in the colder months.
